This Forum will feature a discussion about the “New Accountability Provisions Tied to New K-12 State Education Funding.” Pennsylvania’s 2008-09 education budget provides the largest increase in Pennsylvania basic education funding in at least two decades and - most importantly - implements a real school funding formula in Pennsylvania for the first time since 1992.
The Pennsylvania Education Policy Forum is free, however,
space is limited and an RSVP is required. For more information, contact The
Education Policy and Leadership Center at (717) 260-9900 or

Legislative Candidates Survey
The Pennsylvania School Funding Campaign recently surveyed all 2008 primary election candidates for the Pennsylvania Senate and Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Candidates were asked about the strengths and weaknesses of the state's current education funding system, the adequacy of educational resources, funding for early childhood education, and the educational opportunities they feel should be available to every Pennsylvania child.
